Poetry ~ Tired Eyes

I can’t remember where I got this or who wrote it, but I loved it…

Lay your head upon my lap
and close your tired eyes.
Feel nothing but the soft caress
of my fingers through your hair.
Forget all thoughts
and drift upon my breath;
absorb my touch and your tension lifts
as the warmth of my body blankets you,
and your soul is renewed.
